Borrowing Rules:
Thank you for supporting your child’s reading! Our library has added many new books to the collection. It is your child’s responsibility to return books in the same condition lent to them.
Library loans are collections of reading for pleasure and research (includes JF picture books, JF & F chapter books and JNF non-fiction ) as well as home readers (HR) which should match your child's reading level and will be used in partnership to help build phonetic recognition, reading growth and stamina .
This is the library policy regarding borrowing books for Primary.
If your students borrow a book, it is their responsibility to bring it back, so that others in the school community do not miss the enjoyment of reading them.
TIPS: Please keep your books dry - a clip lock plastic bag is perfect for protecting your book from water bottles in bags or in lockers in wet weather. The Green library bags used in Primary are not fully waterproof and books do need extra protection. Due to excessive wet weather conditions -classes coming to library may be cancelled - please see Point 2.

- All students borrow once a week from the library – This allows the students to read the book for a week and then return it. If you have a primary student in years 4, 5, and 6 - these students may re-new their books once. Students can place a booking on a title if awaiting its return, the library holds the book until they are notified in person or by email.
- In the case, your child forgets to bring back their library book or classes miss their borrowing week the library will extend time on their items. Overdue notices are given to the class teacher to ask the student where their book is, and to take home to parents.
- Each child with an overdue is unfortunately not able to borrow until the book is returned. We encourage you to let your child’s teacher know if there are extenuating circumstances around overdue loans.
- Mid- term / end of term final overdue notices will be emailed home, if the book is not returned accounts for the cost of replacing the book/s will be sent.

- Book Hire textbooks not returned or damaged (more than usual wear and tear of a year) will be invoiced for a replacement cost. These textbooks are at a significant cost and as such library staff inspect textbooks as they are returned, note wear and tear and will discuss any obvious damage (water, mould, rip/tears) with students before any further action is taken. To limit any unwanted replacement fees please remind your student/s to take care of their textbooks.
